Back To School in Honduras 2020

One of the main ways Connect Global has been able to reach the surrounding communities of La Ceiba, Honduras and really make an impact is by advocating for education. We have been involved in supporting education in Honduras since Connect Global was formed, and we have a very special group of partners and supporters in the US and Honduras who have partnered with us on this cause since the 2017 school year..

We are looking to add more students to our roster of scholarship beneficiaries and we would love to invite you to join the several donors who are faithfully giving every month to ensure this group has everything they need to succeed this school year.

A quality education, by loving staff, supported by compassionate sponsors.

The Staff at the two schools we are currently providing scholarships for are amazing. They take great pride in the work they accomplish and understand their purpose very well. We are grateful to a very supportive group of sponsors who take this privilege very seriously and make up the gap between students who want to go to school but may not have the financial means to buy school uniforms, books, or pay their tuition.

Connect Global sponsors some very hard working and committed students.

Every child deserves to get a quality education. We sponsor education initiatives and provide resources when and where we can This past August the team was able to hand out free school supplies to help kick-start the new school year.

No gift to a child is too small.

We all loved to be loved. Kids are not the exception they are the rule to this quote. Our team provided tangible gifts but were also able to give a hug, and a smile to let them know that We care and that God cares for them.

They are special and they are blessed to be a blessing and we are happy to have been able to share this truth with them.

Connect Global team members had the opportunity to show love in a very practical way at the school in El Tamarindo.

Connect Global Visit to DINAF in La Ceiba Honduras

We have been visiting and renovating space next to DINAF one project at a time and supporting their efforts to create a safe, clean, and properly equipped school for the children.

Dirección Nacional de la Niñez y la Familia (DINAF)  a community organization charged with the enforcement of the protection of children, adolescents, and families has a regional office and primary school here in La Ceiba. Our teams have been partnering with DINAf since January 2015, when The Mendoza Family moved to Honduras. We have seen many changes both in leadership and in the care the kids receive here. We have also seen the city make changes to the name and admin of this kindergarten.

The Kids here are amazing to spend time with.

Each time we have a team in La Ceiba we will try to visit this school and bring some joy with us. This time we brightened up their cafeteria by painting and had fun playing, swinging, and blowing bubbles.

A motivated and committed staff are keys to success

The Staff we met are all very motivated to make this the best location possible for the children and families they serve. On each visit, there have improvements. The Smiles on the kids are proof that their teachers and admin staff here are taking pride in the work they are accomplishing.

We also brought a microwave and several other components they have asked for to help the staff operate this school better.

Their funding is low and inconsistent but they have done the very best with what they have. This makes us very happy to support their efforts here.

Founded by Missionaries David & Dialis Romero, whom received God's call, in July of 2000 left their family and amenities in Florida, to move to the country of Honduras, to be a blessing to many families and children who smile today because the have known God's love through this ministry.

Connect Global is Partnering with Proyecto Alcance in La Masica Honduras

Connect Global was introduced to this wonderful ministry in 2015 and began a partnership in the summer of 2016 to support, encourage, and strategize with the founders on ways we can be a help to these dedicated and honorable leaders. Please read on to learn more about this special mission in Honduras.

Little Lambs Children's Refuge

In 2003, Little Lambs Children's Refuge opened its door with an initial group of ten kids.  Today, this home, officially an all-girls home with the exception of one boy, houses 18 kids from the ages of 2 to 17.  The kids, in most cases, come through IHNFA (Honduras' Child Service) and come from homes of extreme poverty; abuse; extreme malnutrition; orphaned; found abandoned on the streets; or were given up by the parents.

Home Facilities

The girls live in dormitory style rooms with 2 - 4 kids per room and attend classes at, Las Huellas Del Maestro.

The property the kids' home is on was an orange tree grove when David Romero bought it.  There are still many of the trees standing, supplying the kids with fresh oranges much of the year.  Their house mom is Marina Garcia Romero, who started working for Reach Out Orphanage since 2000.

By Honduran law, the kids are supposed to leave at the age 18.  But here at Reach Out Orphanage, our kids can stay as long as they need if they're being respectful, responsible, helpful around the home, studious and continue attending church.

Mission Background

Reach Out Orphanage Inc., most commonly known as Proyecto Alcance, is a certified 503(a) non-profit organization. Located in La Masica, Atlántida, Honduras, Proyecto Alcance is a faith-based ministry the preaches the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, with special focus on reaching low-income children and their families, helping them with their spiritual, physical, educational and material needs.
