Connect Global is taking time to honor and celebrate moms this month. We asked our moms (and several other moms we know) a few Questions to get a conversation started about what is important in life and what moms want to see in the world for themselves, and most importantly for their children. Hope you enjoy and please take a minute to ask your mom questions like these from time to time, you may be delightfully surprised by what you learn your mom!

1. Describe a time in your life you really needed someone and they came through for you?

There have been many times God has used my family, friends and even acquaintances to reach out to me when needed. Whether I needed someone to talk to, or needed encouragement in some way, or provided some financial help when needed. Sometimes in small or big ways, I am grateful for each one

2. Who is a woman in your life that has been especially influential in your life?

I would say my mom! She has taught me to be brave and confident and pursue God

3. What books by female authors have you read, and what books did you find impactful?

Captivating, Lioness Arising, For the Love
Too many to list! 😜

4. Where do you draw encouragement from?

I draw encouragement from time alone with God, time with family, music, reading, art, being outside in nature.

5. What project, hobby, or mission are you especially excited about or involved in right now?

I enjoy the missions work we do! To see God touch lives in a meaningful way. And I have really enjoyed homeschooling our son! ( learning, exploring and discovering together is awesome. Excited to be there as he gave his heart to God during one of our school days!

6. What does the world need more of right now?

Love, kindness, respect, honesty and care, prayer and protection for each other and our children. For more Christians to be bold in sharing God’s love and His word.

7. What do you want most for your children?

I want for my son to have a passionate love for God, An understanding and knowing of God’s love for him and others. A strong bold faith and confidence to pursue the call God has for him.  A peace and strength and thankful heart that will guide him and sustain him. A joy that will always give relief. That he will walk in the fruits of the spirit and they will encourage him and he can use them to be a blessing to others.

8. Name something you bought for yourself that you love.

A Hammock! Nice little get away in our backyard!😜

9. Name 2 things you absolutely love that money couldn’t buy and why they mean so much to you.

Money can’t buy me love! The love I have for my God and family! And the love they have for me! Unconditional love is a priceless gift. ❤️

Danielle is the mom of one daughter, Saige, and is married to Javier Mendoza.

1. Describe a time in your life you really needed someone and they came through for you?

I do not know if that time in my life has ended but my husband has been with me through all of the ups and downs of life. His love has made it possible for me to push through in the really hard times.

2. Who is a woman in your life that has been especially influential in your life?

I think women, in general, are very inspirational, so much is excepted of us and somehow we manage to do it in heels!

My mom is inspirational because even when there were so many times where I know she wanted to completely give up she chose not to for us. Life could have been very different for me and my siblings if she did not put her feelings to the side.

3. What books by female authors have you read, and what books did you find impactful?

I think it’s cute that you think mothers have time to read 😊

4. WHERE DO YOU DRAW ENCOURAGEMENT FROM?

From people in our lives who have the same vision and passion, we do for mission work.

5. WHAT PROJECT, HOBBY, OR MISSION ARE YOU ESPECIALLY EXCITED ABOUT OR INVOLVED IN RIGHT NOW?

Connect Global is one that I’m especially excited about because I personally know the literal blood, sweat and tears it took to make it what it is today. All for the purpose of having a mission organization that creates solutions to solvable problems around the world. When the lights go on in someone’s head and they realize their gifts and talents can have an immeasurable impact on others that gets me excited!

6. WHAT DOES THE WORLD NEED MORE OF RIGHT NOW?

The world needs more Peace and more Love. Sadly so many people due to their own insecurities do not love themselves which in turn makes it impossible for them to genuinely love someone else. Once we realize that humanity at large has the same dreams, desires, and aspirations I think violence, negativity, and hatred for other people, races or religions will decrease. That is my hope!

7. WHAT DO YOU WANT MOST FOR YOUR CHILDREN?

I want my daughter to be secure in who she is, to feel safe physically and emotionally and to always hold the Joy for life that she has right now at the age of 8.

8. NAME SOMETHING YOU BOUGHT FOR YOURSELF THAT YOU LOVE.

We bought a home last August after 11 years of marriage and though we have made every house our home this one is extra special.

9. NAME 2 THINGS YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT MONEY COULDN’T BUY AND WHY THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO YOU.

My husband and my daughter, they are the ones who can make any bad day a happy one, any sad situation better and the two people I wish I could spend every waking moment with! Their humor, their love, their acceptance and their kindness is something I know I am so blessed to have and I wouldn’t want to go through life without them

Maternity Home Project Update December 2017

Maternity Home Project Update December 2017

The Connect Global Team is very excited about the progress of the Maternity Home fundraising as well as the building and construction efforts.  Updated: December 29th

Together we have been able to raise over $131k towards our Maternity Home in La Ceiba, Honduras. Thank You!

We began raising funds for a desperately needed place for moms and expecting moms to rest just before and immediately after giving birth and are only weeks away from breaking ground.

Maternity-Home-Progress.png

We traveled to La Ceiba, Honduras with a team of 13 at the end of October. We were able to publicly dedicate the land at the hospital for the Maternity Home.

I am very excited about the project coming together and to be able to share this progress with you! As we were there praying over the land and the project, we received the approval for construction. This is a huge step forward as we have been waiting most of the summer for this process to be approved.

We are headed into the Rainy season for Honduras, which may delay some of the work, but we were expecting a slowdown for winter and we know the timing is perfect and being worked out on our behalf.

Thank you for all of your prayer and your support!

If you would like to make a donation towards the project before the year ends please click here

Our local contractor/architect, Eduardo Oviedo Jr.  has done a fantastic job getting the plans ready and we are excited to be getting closer to ground breaking.

Connect Global Maternity Home Fundraising Update

Thanks to the overwhelmingly generous support we have received we will be making plans to break ground in 2018. We have been talking with several professional contractors in La Ceiba to finalize building standards and firm up a potential start date. We will inform you of the details when they are complete.
