Hurricanes Eta & Iota brought devastating rains, mudslides, and flooding to Honduras.

In an effort to continue aiding families who have been affected by the storms in 2020, our team was able to make their way to Sulaco, Yoro to deliver immediate food relief to 60 additional families because of your generosity

We partnered with the local church in the area led by Pastor Wilberto Palma to make a most lasting impact.

There are many people who have been deeply affected by the covid-19 pandemic and these hurricanes only made situations worse. Some people have lost everything.

We are so grateful to be able to give and serve together with you!

Connect Global staff and volunteers have joined pastors and church members from all over the department of Atlantida to serve the towns hardest hit by Hurricane Eta and Iota.

They have been delivering mattresses, clothing items, family food rations, purified water and the group is delivering the hope and love of Jesus to people right where they are.

Our convoy has passed many devastated villages and homes on their way to the designated meeting place. This week they also joined the team from La Masica to make homemade pizzas to hand out.

Many homes are completely destroyed.

There is still much work to do and we are preparing now for the long term relief efforts such as urban farms.

Please continue to pray with us and our teams as we serve and give to those who have been affected not only by the storms but also by 8 months of lockdown due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

60 people gathered in order to receive donated food which represents a part of the well over $22,000 Connect Global has directly invested in emergency food relief this year because of your generosity.

In a year already devastated by other storms, economic impact and travel shutdowns due to the pandemic, the effects are only beginning to be felt along the northern coast of Honduras where we work.

Our teams have been hard at work each day diligently providing care for those in our immediate reach. We began by distributing clothing that was donated to Connect Global by a shop owner for people who have lost their possessions in the flood waters.

Connect Global continues to provide daily staples such as rice, beans, and cooking oil, purified water, mattresses, and other much needed supplies.

We are grateful for those who have chosen to Give With Us during this time towards Hurricane relief. We could not have responded so quickly without your generosity.

Our team joined our good friends David & Dialis Romero from Proyecto Alcance, Little Lambs Refuge, to make pizzas and prepare drinks and other supplies to serve those in a community impacted by the storms. A team of Connect Global staff and volunteers also joined the sweet girls and boys at the Little Lambs Refuge for a day of cooking and distributing 250 hot meals to our neighbors in La Masica as well as working with several church volunteers top hand out well over 300 hot meals over this past weekend.

The Connect Global team is only able to immediately assist and serve the community thanks to your generosity.

There is still much work to be done and our teams are out working every single day to help those who have been affected by the storms.

We invite you to Give With Us to make an immediate impact in the lives of those who have been hit the hardest.

Thank You!

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.  If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?  In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
— James 2:15-17

Connect Global will continue to serve the people of Honduras.

Knowing that the community will continue to need support for food and the Gospel we have adopted a 3 part plan.

1) Family Food Bags:  We will continue to provide these Family Food Bags to individual families (including pastors’ families) as needed to make sure that their needs are met.

2) Strategic Care Ministries:  We will continue to focus efforts on Strategic Care Ministries that are in turn caring for larger groups of people.  Delivering food in bulk to these locations helps provide care for dozens of people at a time.

3) Urban Gardening through Aquaponics:  We have set the goal to build 50 urban gardens for families all over the north coast region of Honduras as well as 1 large Urban Farm to grow food in bulk and to provide a training model.  Between March 15th & June 8th We built 5 of these family-sized Urban Farms.  This component will provide long-term sustainability through helping others grow their own food and allowing Connect Global to grow large amounts of food to give away.

The Connect Global team led by Janeth Montoya, Jorge Amador, and many more staff and volunteers made their way up into the hardest hit areas to make sure that we could serve those in need.
