Connect Global tuvo un tiempo maravilloso como anfitrión de la Conferencia de Misiones 2019 en La Ceiba, Honduras. Este año, los asistentes disfrutaron de varios oradores dinámicos y talleres. Tanto líderes de culto locales como internacionales estuvieron en la conferencia compartiendo sus dones con Honduras, y muchas personas entregaron sus corazones al señor al servicio de la Gran Comisión.
Organizar eventos anuales como la Conferencia de Misiones de este año es una expresión de nuestro deseo de ayudar a preparar y equipar a América Latina para llegar al mundo. Esta conferencia anual junto con nuestra iniciativa de Comunidad Conectada existente en La Ceiba, Honduras, es parte de la visión a largo plazo de Connect Global.

Connect Global Missions Conference in La Ceiba
Connect Global had a wonderful time hosting the 2019 Missions Conference in La Ceiba, Honduras. This years attendees enjoyed several dynamic speakers, and workshops. Both international and local worship leaders were at the conference sharing their giftings with Honduras, and many people gave their hearts to the lord in service to the Great Commission..
Hosting annual events such as this year’s Missions Conference is one expression of our desire to help Prepare and Equip Latin America to Reach the World. This annual conference along with our existing Connected Community initiative in La Ceiba, Honduras is a part of the long term vision of Connect Global.
Connect Global was honored to host some very special guest speakers, pastors, and trainers. Dr. Mitch Arbeláez, International Mobilizer from Go To Nations, Pastor Tony Byrd, Morning Star Church, & Dr Johnny Moffitt, Worldwide Voice In the Wilderness, along with many other well renowned speakers and teachers from La Ceiba such as Pastor Allan Lorenzana, Pastor Edgardo Lainez, Pastor Mauricio Vargas were there to help share the vision.

CONNECT GLOBAL is investing in the local pastors and leaders of the church in La Ceiba. We believe that their destiny is to not only reach their communities but all communities around the world. “I first fell in love with missions when I went on my first trip to Mexico with my (christian) school. We slept on a concrete floor, ate new foods, and most importantly served in the elementary school. It was evident that decent meals and full bellies were scarce but joy and happiness were not.”
The Connect Global Team traveled to Honduras once again, in June of 2017. This trip had a couple of focus points, one of which is to focus on training and encouraging church leaders to fulfill the great commission in Honduras and around the world.
A primary focus of all Connect Global trips currently is the ongoing training and support of Honduran church leaders in La Ceiba.
Our team included several great speakers and leaders, including Dr. Johnny Moffitt and His wife and ministry partner, Betty Moffitt, Dr. Mitch Arbeláez, Pastor David Humphries, Michael Scudiero, as well as the Connect Global leadership, Travis Moffitt, Javier Mendoza, and Jorge Amador.
The two primary speaking tracks were on Prison Ministry and Global Missions.
We have been supporting La Ceiba through teaching and training for the last several years through our Connect Community Initiative and intend to continue encouraging the communities of Honduras to empower their citizens to be a part of the sharing of the great commission around the world.

Connect Global Maternity Home Fundraising Update
Thanks to the overwhelmingly generous support we have received we will be making plans to break ground in 2017. We have been talking with several professional contractors in La Ceiba to finalize building standards and firm up a potential start date. We will inform you of the details when they are complete.

Effective leadership is influencing people in the areas and for the purposes God intended for your life. Additionally, for the Christian effective leadership involves the discovery and utilization of your dominant spiritual gifts as well as keeping focused on where you can make your unique contribution.
A ministry leader's role includes:
1) defining and continually clarifing the corporate ministry vision,
2) consistently casting that vision before friends, partners, and the recipients of the ministry,
3) thanking staff and partners, and
4) raising the money necessary to fulfill the vision.
A Christ-honoring leader will seek always to point people to Jesus. He will keep the corporate vision clear both to himself and to the team. He will discern the direction the wind of the Spirit is blowing, and let the Spirit's momentum move him in that direction.

Our trip to Cuba was a great Success
Thank you for praying and checking in on us. We just returned from our trip to Cuba, and it was amazing.

We joined a team from an organization called Worldwide Voice In the Wilderness, comprised of leaders from Florida, and Texas. Our team visited 4 cities and hosted 3 separate conferences.
People came from all over Cuba and represented every single province in Cuba.
People slept in the churches, or doubled up with families but the main focus was to be at these conferences.
The Cuban leaders organized several segments of teaching In which our team jumped in and did a fantastic job. We also visited a dozen churches, and met with city leadership in Ciego de Avila, Santiago de Cuba, and Holguin.
In Holguin there were over 500 Prison and Hospital Chaplains and Leaders that all came to be encouraged and equipped. We joined other keynote speakers from Chicago and California.
We are excited about the potential that is upon Cuba for widespread positive change.
The people we met are hardworking, and dedicated to their cause. We are anticipating more opportunity to go back and would love for you to consider going with us. If you are interested please send us a message!

The Business Leadership Conference
This August we had the opportunity to provide a Business Leadership Conference to the City of La Ceiba. We partnered with Global Advance to provide both strategic and specific ways to grow businesses in La Ceiba. Global Advance believes that 'Training Christian businessmen and women in developing nations increases economic and spiritual capital throughout the world.'

We are excited about the potential that this conference has opened up in the community of La Ceiba and for the Christian Business Owners and Entrepreneurs of Honduras. The Global Advance Marketplace Missions conferences are very practical and leaders are encouraged to grow their business as a means to reach their community and change their country for the better.
The team from Global Advance included, Jonathan Shibley - President of Global Advance, Hallie Powers - Global Advance Staff Member, Andrew Hodges - Orthodontist, Brad & Kathleen Watson - Entrepreneurs and Business Owners , and Lorne & Mary Liechty- Former Mayor of Heath Texas, Attorney, and ORU Alumni.
Teaching Business Principles Through Personal Experience
Each session was full of practical tools as well as spiritual inspiration to become a financial force for good. Growing spiritually, and ethically strong businesses not only improves each business owners status but it has strong national and global impact as well.
Hearing the personal stories of both successes and challenges from each of the team members really resonated with the attendees. Questions were answered by the team and a time of networking was built into the schedule as well.
The business leaders really enjoyed the personal access they had to each of the speakers.
Marketplace Visits
The team also visited several local businesses and private schools to provide insight, encouragement and prayer for their business. The team was able to make about 10 of these marketplace visits, and were able to make financial investments into several businesses around town.

Thank You for your prayer and encouragement for the city of La Ceiba. There are many stories here of people and families who have created opportunity for their families to sustainably get out of poverty and remain independent of foreign "handouts".
Connect Global has, from the outset, always encouraged partnership over traditional "handout" style giving. We believe the solutions for Hondurans exist within Honduras. We have come alongside to offer education, experience, and the encouragement to keep fighting for what is right.
By working Together we all become better citizens, better family members, better leaders, and better catalysts of change in our communities.
The Maternity Home ministry provides Connect Global access to serve both moms and newborns with great care and dignity while sharing the good news of Jesus with our employees, hospital staff and each new mom that we meet.
