Map of the Island of Cuba

Cuba is a Caribbean island nation under communist rule. It has sugar-white beaches and is dotted with tobacco fields, which play a part in the production of the country's legendary cigars. The capital, Havana, is lined with pastel houses, 1950s-era cars and Spanish-colonial architecture in the 16th-century core, Old Havana. Salsa music plays in the dance clubs and cabaret shows are performed at the famed Tropicana.

Cuba remains a top priority for our travels after our initial trip to Cuba in 2016. We have many great Cuban friends who are working diligently to transform their country with positivity, training, and the expansion of The Gospel.

La Ceiba, Honduras

Partial view of La Ceiba waterfront in the 1910s. The sender of this real photo postcard, possibly an American missionary, describes the white building behind the boat's mast as "our church" and the large building at the left as the barracks and prison. The wireless station and tower to the right of the water tower belonged to "an American banana company", most likely the company that became the Standard Fruit Co. and whose operations were headquartered in La Ceiba. Unknown, c. 1915 - Public Domain

La Ceiba (Spanish pronunciation: [la ˈseiβa]) is a port city on the northern coast of Honduras in Central America. It is located on the southern edge of the Caribbean, forming part of the south eastern boundary of the Gulf of Honduras. With an estimated population of over 200,000 living in approximately 170 residential areas[2] (called colonias or barrios), it is the fourth largest city in the country and the capital of the Honduran department of Atlántida. La Ceiba was officially founded on August 23, 1877.

La Ceiba is Connect Global's choice for our new initiative called, Connect Community. We have chosen this location because of its access to remote villages, as well as more well known locales, the relationships we have formed over the years, and the need for positive change.

Chiang Rai Thailand

Chiang Rai Thailand

Chiang Rai, the former capital of the great Lanna Kingdom, is a fascinating province filled with cultural and natural wonders, including the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Laos, and Burma come together; an area that was once the hub of opium production, a trade that had much influence on cultural practices and lifestyles. Chiang Rai had stayed off the tourist radar for many years, its people enjoying very leisurely development and mostly traditional, rural lifestyles. Until this day, entire clans live together in bamboo houses and each village has its own individual character. Recently tourism has boomed in Chiang Rai, where visitors have come to explore the pristine natural beauty of the countryside and immerse themselves in the indigenous culture, including those of a variety of different hill tribe communities. Fortunately for tourists, Chiang Rai is also a center for community development projects, helping rural villagers develop their attractions without adversely affecting their natural and cultural assets.

Since 1988, House of Grace Thailand has rescued hundreds of girls and has grown into a first-rate facility. Having been called “the finest children’s home in Thailand,” House of Grace currently has a total of 13 buildings on two properties.

Thanks to the work of House of Grace and the partnership of sponsors, girls who would have been trapped in a life of sexual slavery have found careers in education, business, law and medicine. Today, these young professional women of God are making a positive difference in their communities.

House of Grace is still growing and there is still plenty of work to be done.

FAQ's

How Many Girls Live at House of Grace?

In Thailand, we currently have 100 girls ranging in age from 4 to 23. They stay at House of Grace until they can make a safe living for themselves. We will educate them as far as they can go. We presently have girls enrolled in vocational programs, teacher programs, local universities, and law school. Our hope for every girl is for her to become a self-sufficient, educated, woman of God.

How do girls come to House Of Grace?

It becomes common knowledge in a village that a father or stepfather is going to sell his daughter. Often there is a kind person in the girl’s life who will try to keep this from happening. Many times a grandmother, aunt, older sister or a good neighbor will bring a young girl to House of Grace to protect her.
