Update From Little Lambs Refuge

Here is an update from the Little Lambs Refuge in La Masica, Honduras.

Our Partnership with Proyecto Alcance

We are glad to be connected to this wonderful ministry. We were introduced to the children's home in La Masica in 2015 when Danielle and Saige and I moved to La Ceiba. We visited several times that year and since then have become entrenched in working with the leadership there to support their efforts. We have taken several teams over the past 3 years to engage with Little Lambs Refuge and there have been many individuals who have created deep connections with the kids and the staff.

Together with our partners, we have been able to provide things like spiritual care and support to the kids and leaders, as well as tangible things like new windows, paint, groceries, and financial support.

We are committed to working alongside the leadership here for years to come. We see Connect Global and Proyecto Alcance as ministry partners who care deeply about the welfare and support of the young ones who call this refuge Home.

If you would like to help us support this project we encourage you to pray about how you feel led to partner. We are believing for several people to give monthly towards the home in La Masica.

Love has no Geographical Boundaries

Little Lambs Refuge in La Masica is a wonderful ministry of Proyecto Alcance founded by David and Dialis Romero. They have cared for and supported girls of all ages in a very poor area of Honduras for 18 years.  Connect Global was introduced to this ministry in 2015 while Danielle, Saige, and myself lived in La Ceiba.

Aquaponic Update from La Masica Honduras

There are many exciting updates from Honduras and one is concerning the Aquaponic Fish System we set up at the girls home and trade school in La Masica Honduras

This refuge and vocational school is doing wonderful things for their community and one is through the skills of aquaponics'

We received these images and video from, Alison, one of the directors at the home and we wanted to share them with you.

We hope you are as excited about the potential this presents for a sustainable food source as well as an invaluable learning tool to teach a new and unique trade to help empower a new generation in Honduras.

Sustainable solutions like Aquaponics, water wells and educational investments in national leaders are opening doors for us to share the good news of Jesus throughout Honduras and around the world. Thank you for your continued support through prayer and financial giving

Connect Global is Partnering with Proyecto Alcance in La Masica Honduras

Connect Global was introduced to this wonderful ministry in 2015 and began a partnership in the summer of 2016 to support, encourage, and strategize with the founders on ways we can be a help to these dedicated and honorable leaders. Please read on to learn more about this special mission in Honduras.

Little Lambs Children's Refuge

In 2003, Little Lambs Children's Refuge opened its door with an initial group of ten kids.  Today, this home, officially an all-girls home with the exception of one boy, houses 18 kids from the ages of 2 to 17.  The kids, in most cases, come through IHNFA (Honduras' Child Service) and come from homes of extreme poverty; abuse; extreme malnutrition; orphaned; found abandoned on the streets; or were given up by the parents.

Home Facilities

The girls live in dormitory style rooms with 2 - 4 kids per room and attend classes at, Las Huellas Del Maestro.

The property the kids' home is on was an orange tree grove when David Romero bought it.  There are still many of the trees standing, supplying the kids with fresh oranges much of the year.  Their house mom is Marina Garcia Romero, who started working for Reach Out Orphanage since 2000.

By Honduran law, the kids are supposed to leave at the age 18.  But here at Reach Out Orphanage, our kids can stay as long as they need if they're being respectful, responsible, helpful around the home, studious and continue attending church.

Mission Background

Reach Out Orphanage Inc., most commonly known as Proyecto Alcance, is a certified 503(a) non-profit organization. Located in La Masica, Atlántida, Honduras, Proyecto Alcance is a faith-based ministry the preaches the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, with special focus on reaching low-income children and their families, helping them with their spiritual, physical, educational and material needs.

Connected Community Update: Aquaponics

[CONNECTED COMMUNITY UPDATE]

Here Pastor Alison of La Masica, Honduras holds on of the Tilapia he raised in a new Aquaponic Fish System.

A new Aquaponic project now exists in a small town called La Masica. It's going to benefit a girls home we support.

Our friend and long time Honduran partner, Jorge Amador, was the main catalyst for getting this project initiated and completed.

They worked hard and got all the supplies they needed from local friends and partners.

This is a wonderful example of the community working together to create practical solutions to support each other.
