The Great Commission in Honduras

The Great Commission in Honduras

The Connect Global Team operates under the mandate found in Matthew 28:19, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations ". Our purpose is To share the Good News of Jesus around the world and help others do the same. One of the ways we are accomplishing this is by partnering with Pastors and Missionaries around the world who do the work of making disciples in some of the farthest, and most unreached areas in the world.

Prison Ministry in Tegucigalpa

Prison Ministry in Tegucigalpa

There are many ways that Connect Global has chosen to help raise up communities in Honduras. One way we have done this is by partnering with local church leaders who have a heart and passion for prison ministry. We have visited about 9 prisons over the past few years in various cities around the country.

Our Next Clean Water Project In Honduras

Over 660 Million people around the world still drink dirty water. People without access to clean drinking water become ill, miss out on school, make less money, and can even die from water borne disease.

Honduras: Culture

Honduras: Culture

HONDURAS CULTURE

The people of Honduras are very welcoming and hospitable.  Their culture is very open, and it's not uncommon to be invited (especially if you're on a mission trip there) into their home to relax and visit.  The people of Honduras appreciate when Americans come to the country.

Firsthand Experience Quote:

"Since the vast majority of Americans who go to Honduras are going to help improve the Hondurans' quality of life, the people are open and receptive to just about anyone coming from the U.S. This gives Americans a golden opportunity for evangelism and opportunities for discipleship."

Dr. Johnny Moffitt

Dr. Johnny Moffitt

Dr. Johnny Moffitt will be a part of Connect Global's Trip this February to Tegucigalpa to visit prisons and train leaders for prison ministry.

Johnny Moffitt has been invited to prisons around the world to teach officials, correctional staff, diplomats, and volunteers how to effectively minister to inmates as well as serve families affected by their incarcerated family members. The prisons of Honduras are in need of hope and the message of Jesus Christ. Our team will make a couple of prison visits as well as train prison leaders, and volunteers.

We are grateful for Johnny's ministry and teaching and he and his wife, Betty Moffitt being able to share their time and expertise on this trip.

Johnny leads WVIW in ministry services to TDCJ prisons through Marriage Seminars for inmates, as well as for officers and staff; Manhood Seminars & Prison Crusades; and helped established a 12-step program called, “Overcomers”.  “Overcomers” is now in over 50 units of TDCJ, and three federal prisons.  In April of 1997, Johnny received the Governor George W. Bush Award for “Volunteer Services” to the Texas Department of Corrections, for his ministry to the marriages of Texas inmates and TDCJ officers and staff.  In 2006 he received the Governor Rick Perry Award as “The Best Family Program” in Texas prisons.

In 2014 he was awarded the “Chaplain Ray Hoekstra Lifetime Achievement Award” by the International Coalition Of Prison Evangelists, for his thirty-seven years of ministry in prisons around the world.

Aquaponics Update from Connect Global

The Connect Global Team has been investing in Aquaponics since our inception. Our First Official Trip as 'Connect Global' to Cusuna, we built 5 aquaponic systems. We have learned a lot since then, and our friend and partner Jorge Amador has built many more and taught several people his skills as well. We plan to build and facilitate an Aquaponic Training Center in Honduras in 2019.
